a little bit about me

I'm a creative with a diverse background including 9 years in the marketing industry, 8 years of nonprofit work, and 8 years of agency experience. This combined experience helps me think creatively, strategically, and empathetically as a graphic designer.

I was drawn to design because I enjoy the process of communicating and solving problems through visual creations. Seeing a sketch turn into a polished logo or a brief turn into a beautifully branded campaign is magical for me.

My specialty areas are branding, art direction, and color theory. I'm passionate about helping clients represent who they are most effectively. I also love cultivating an art direction that feels just right for a project based on audience and tone.

I get inspiration from observing the world around me and experiencing things. In between dreaming up designs I am passionate about traveling, any activity in the ocean, grooving to live music, expressing myself through collage, or exploring nature trails.

01.

define

The first part of my process is a collaboration. I get to know the client and the project that we will be partnering on. Through introductions and discussions, we'll define the problem that needs to be solved and the goals of the project.

Stakeholder Meeting
02.

research

I conduct research on the client to get a sense of how they are currently presenting themselves. I also review the work of their competitors. When I do this I’m looking for patterns across the industry.

My favorite part of the research phase is looking for inspiration. This is not limited to other clients in the space— inspiration comes from everywhere.

03.

ideate

My sketchbook is where my brainstorming happens. Creating analog sketches and writing down notes allows me to work out my ideas. I use the knowledge I obtained from the define and research phase to provide guidance.

04.

create

With valuable insights gained from the previous phases, it is now the magic hour. The beginning of the process unlocks the direction, which coalesces with my creativity to bring our design dreams to life.

05.

refine

The client decides which concept fits their needs the best. Once this decision is made, I fine-tune the direction by applying feedback and implementing the concept across the appropriate channels.
